JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsible for overseeing the total nursing care of residents assigned during his/her shift. Makes rounds daily and supervises all care. Reports problems to DON. Assists as needed with admissions and discharges. Communicates with doctors, families and other agencies.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must have a sincere desire to work with geriatric residents. Must have knowledge of State and Federal regulations and be able to instruct others accurately and effectively to operate within these guidelines. Must possess good assessment skills. Experience in computerized resident record keeping a plus.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Graduation from accredited school of nursing. May be RN or LPN.

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES

Current licensure with the State of Tennessee.
