JOB DESCRIPTION

Assist in maintaining the grounds, facility and equipment in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations. Perform routine maintenance and repair on the facility and equipment to include plumbing, plastering, electrical, carpentry, mechanical, etc, with an emphasis on preventive maintenance. Special projects as assigned. Must be available for occasional evening and weekend emergency situations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Able to work independently and reschedule activities to meet the needs of residents or nursing staff. Must be able to deal tactfully and effectively with residents, families, visitors and co-workers. Must be able to read and understand standard English and be able to work with standard cleaning chemicals.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Must possess, as a minimum, a 10th grade education. Experience with basic electrical repair, carpentry or other building maintenance fields a plus.
