DESCRIPTION
Preparation of a variety of nutritious and appetizing meals and snacks for residents and staff, following planned menus, along with specialized meals in accordance with medically ordered therapeutic diets. All food preparation must be completed in accordance with sanitary regulations as well as established policies and procedures. Assist with inventory of food products and insuring that sufficient supplies are on hand for each meal and emergency situations.
QUALIFICATIONS
Able to work independently and adapt to menu changes on short notice. Must be able to deal tactfully and effectively with residents, families, visitors and co-workers. Must be able to read and understand standard English, follow preplanned menus and recipes, and be able to work with various food products and cleaning supplies.
EDUCATIONAL
REQUIREMENTS
Must possess, as a minimum, an 8th grade education. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. One (1) year food experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related medical facility preferred (but not required). Specialized training, i.e., baking, a plus.
